Mediclaim Health Insurance Plan Policy:

* Your Family Protector- A Mediclaim Insurance policy takes care of the medical expenses of the insured in case of hospitalization due to sudden illness or accident from Oriental Insurance & ICICI Lombard.
* It also covers pre-hospitalisation and post-hospitalisation for periods of 30 days and 60 days respectively.
* Besides Domiciliary hospitalisation is also covered in mediclaim health insurance plans..

Age limit: Minimum 5 to maximum 80 years to buy/ purchase Mediclaim Policy.

Benefits:

* Reimbursement of medical expenses.
* Discount available on premium on family package, cumulative bonus and health check.
* In case of family package cover, a single member can avail of the entire health insurance policy limits.
* Pre-existing diseases not covered.

Income Tax Benefits:

The premium paid by cheque for mediclaim insurance policy upto a maximum of Rs.10,000 is totally exempt from income tax.

Exclusions:

Except in case of accident, Mediclaim facility is not available in case of illness contracted within 30 days from the commencement of risk.
Pre-existing diseases are not covered.
Treatment for cataracts, benign prostatic Hypertrophy, Hydrocele, Congenital internal diseases, Fistula in anus, Piles, Sinusitis and related disorders for 1st year of policy.
Expenses incurred in respect of any treatment relating to pregnancy or childbirth
AIDS or conditions of similar kind.
Directly or indirectly connected with war or nuclear waste.

Cashless Form

Claims are administered through Third Party Administrators (TPA) whose contact particulars appear on the policy document. Insured can opt for cashless or reimbursement facility for their claims. The proposer has the option to avail TPA services, which is cashless or direct service by Policy issuing Office, which is on reimbursement basis.
